Terms of Service

Draft pending legal review. These terms were written to describe what Signoff actually does. They have not been reviewed by a lawyer, and the bracketed items below must be filled in before launch.

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Signoff ("Signoff", "we", "us") covering your use of the Signoff website and application. By creating an account you confirm that you have read and agree to them, and to the Privacy Policy.

If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company, and "you" means both you and that company.

1. Signoff is in beta

Signoff is currently offered as a free beta. That has consequences worth stating plainly rather than burying:

  • Access is limited. Registration is capped while the beta runs, and we may close it at any time.
  • It is free, and that may change. We are not charging during the beta. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you before any charge applies to your account, and you will be able to decline and stop using the paid features.
  • Features may change or disappear. Beta software is unfinished by definition.
  • Do not rely on it as your only record. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. See section 8.

2. Your account

You need an account to use Signoff. You agree to give an accurate email address, to keep your password secret, and to be responsible for everything that happens under your account.

Accounts are for a single person. Sharing one set of credentials across a team is not permitted — invite people into your workspace instead.

Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has gained access to your account.

3. Workspaces and team members

A workspace owner can invite other people into their workspace. Everyone in a workspace can see that workspace's suites, runs, results, and reports.

If you invite someone, you are responsible for that decision. If you are invited, understand that the workspace owner controls the workspace and can remove your access.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you put into Signoff — your test cases, runs, results, reports, and anything you paste in.

You grant us only the permission we need to actually run the service: to store, process, transmit and display your content for the purpose of providing Signoff to you and the people you share it with. We do not claim ownership, we do not sell your content, and we do not use it to advertise to you.

You are responsible for what you put in. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to, and think twice before pasting production secrets, personal data about your customers, or anything under an obligation of confidentiality you cannot extend to us and our providers (listed in the Privacy Policy).

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Signoff to:

  • break the law, or help anyone else do so;
  • store or transmit malware, or content that infringes someone else's rights;
  • attack, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or try to reach data that is not yours;
  • resell or white-label the service without our written agreement;
  • evade the beta registration cap, rate limits, or any other technical limit, including by creating multiple accounts for that purpose.

We may suspend or close an account that does any of this, and we may do so without notice where the conduct is causing active harm.

6. Third-party integrations

Signoff can connect to Jira and GitHub if you choose to set that up. When you do, you authorise us to use the credentials you provide to create and update issues on your behalf.

Those services are not ours. Your use of them is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability, their behaviour, or changes they make to their APIs. Revoking access is done from your side — remove the integration in Signoff, and revoke the token with the provider.

7. AI-generated test cases

Signoff can draft test cases from a diff or specification you paste in. Two things you should know:

  • The text you paste is sent to a third-party AI provider to produce the draft. See the Privacy Policy for who that is. Do not paste anything you are not comfortable sending to them.
  • Drafts are suggestions, not verified output. They can be incomplete or wrong. Nothing is saved until you review and approve it, and reviewing it is your responsibility. Signoff makes no promise that generated cases cover what needs covering.

8. Shared reports

Signoff lets you publish a run report at a public link. Anyone who has that link can view the report without signing in — it is unguessable, but it is not secret, and we cannot control where a link travels once you send it.

Publishing a report is your decision. Do not publish one containing anything you would not put on a public web page.

9. Availability, and what we do not promise

We try to keep Signoff running and your data intact, but during the beta the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

In particular we do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that Signoff will detect any particular bug in your software. Signoff is a record of testing you perform; it does not perform the testing, and it cannot tell you that your software is safe to ship. That judgement remains yours.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, or lost or corrupted data, arising out of your use of Signoff.

Because the beta is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to Signoff is limited to [amount — e.g. USD 100, or the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months, whichever is greater].

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Signoff and delete your account at any time. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. Where we discontinue the service generally, we will give reasonable notice and an opportunity to export your data.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When the change is significant we will bring it to your attention rather than relying on you to notice — by email, or in the app before you next continue. Continuing to use Signoff after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. Each version is dated, and the version you agreed to at signup is recorded on your account.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction — e.g. the Republic of the Philippines], and the courts of [venue] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
